I am a Life Member of the American Association of Endodontists having joined in 1973.

Volunteered getting the Veterans ready to take their Honor Flight to Washington DC. When I was doing Honor Flight Chicago my wife and I had to arrive at Midway Airport at 3 am! The Vets started boarding their plane between 6 am and 7 am for the flight to Washington DC. I am personally scheduled to take an Honor Flight between the months of April to October in 2025.

Volunteered at the First Division Museum at Cantigny in Wheaton Illinois. Was a Greeter in the First Division Museum (I am a First Division Veteran having served active duty in the US Army Dental Corps from 1973 to1975 and was assigned to B Company First Medical Battalion). I was Honorably Discharged after serving my Reserve Duty in August 1978.

Assisting police performing various details (speed checks with radar gun; parking lot patrol for parking violations, handicapped parking violations; patroling local nature trail (The Old Plank Trail); crossing guards at various village functions.

Retired in 2013 after working part-time from 1977 -1995 and full-time from 1996 - 2013. Wired/networked the Postgraduate Clinic for the Schick radiography system before the college was computerized in the late 90's; Webmaster for the department in the 90's (created one of the first departmental web sites at the COD) before the College of Dentistry developed their own web site; involved with curriculum development in the Department of Endodontics: Objectively Structured Endodontic Clinical Exam on computers- OSCE; oral/Powerpoint; small group oral Endodontic Case Presentations D -3 and D-4; Self Evaluation of Clinical Endodontic skills; Clinical Endodontics I, II & III; senior capstone Case Presentation following the AAE Guidelines. On Postgraduate Selection Committee; on Dean's Advisory Committee; on Departmental Heads Advisory Committee; one organizer on the Postgraduate Technique Class (assembled materials for the course); on Curriculum Development Committee; taught undergraduates in Endodontic Technique Course and the Undergraduate Endodontic Clinic; Mock Board Evaluator for Endodontic portion of exam (molar access and complete RCT on plastic endodontic teeth). On Competency Based Development Committee.

Supervising dentist on premises. Co-taught dental radiology. Present in Hygiene Clinic and supervised/evaluated students. Provided local anesthetic for patients who required it. Left this job when I began full-time at the dental school in 1998.

Was given the 50 year Jubilarian award from the Illinois State Dental Society November 2023 for membership in organized dentistry (ADA, ISDS. CDS).

Specialist treating patients referred for endodontic treatment. Was forced to give up the private practice of endodontics when my multiple sclerosis advanced to the point where it was affecting my work.

General dentistry officer in the Dental Corps. Was assigned to the 1st Medical Battalion, B Company. Member of "The Big Red One" (First Infantry Division). Participated in REFORGER 74 - "Certain Pledge."
