Field Project Manager for the Agriculture Development in Mine-Affected Areas of Cambodia (ADMAC) project funded by CIDA (Canadian International Development Agency).- Advised the Cambodian government's Ministry of Agriculture regarding all components of the four-year project and achieved the expected project objectives.- Provided technical advice and monitored project outputs and outcomes to ensure that results could be validated and project objectives were being attained. Compiled progress reports and annual workplans that met CIDA requirements.- Established working relationships with project partners and stakeholders in Cambodia at national and provincial levels in order to maintain project coordination and implementation.- Built capacity among project partners with respect to general project management requirements, as well as in terms of specific concepts such as Gender Mainstreaming and Results-Based Management.- Ensured that relevant performance monitoring data and indicators, including baseline data, were maintained and analyized over the life of the project.

- Managed and administered CDN$1.5 million fund to support the work of civil society organizations in Cambodia.- Reviewed project proposals from Cambodian civil society organizations promoting human rights, democratic development, good governance, and rule of law in Cambodia.- Assessed capabilities of requesting organizations with respect to the proposed activities and made recommendations for approval of funding to the review committee.- Monitored project activities in terms of Results-Based Management (RBM) concepts and assessed progress made with respect to intended objectives and prepared regular reports to CIDA headquarters.- Conducted capacity building exercises for staff of Cambodian civil society organizations with respect to RBM concepts- Participated in Technical Working Groups that addressed governance issues and advised CIDA Program Officers of governance and development issues in Cambodia.

- Contracted to complete studies in four areas of research.- Firstly, conducted evaluation of Community-Based Flood Mitigation Project of the Cambodian Red Cross in fifteen villages in three provinces. - Designed and adapted survey instruments, supervised Cambodian researchers, assessed project effectiveness, and submitted report.- Secondly, conducted research on the potential for corporate philanthropy in Cambodia in terms of providing a sustainable funding source for Cambodian civil society organizations.- Thirdly, completed research on an overview of the Pact Cambodia’s initiatives directed to support 43 local NGOs from 1991 to 2001 under Pact’s Cambodia Community Outreach Program.- Fourthly, conducted post-flood assessment of effectiveness of disaster management activities performed by community-based Cambodian Red Cross volunteers in rural villages.

- Conducted field research in five villages and assessed socio-economic factors and natural resource factors.- Conducted field research in hill tribe villages of different ethnic groups throughout the province of Ratanakiri documenting cultural traditions.- Managed and planned the establishment of a Cultural and Environmental Centre in the Yeak Lom Protected Environment Area.- Prepared a report on research conducted between March 1996 and June 1997 entitled, Land and Culture: Heritage of the Highlanders. This document can be accessed through IDRC’s digital library.- Participated in the policy-making process of the Government of Cambodia’s Inter-Ministerial Committee on Highland Peoples’ Development.
