Electrical designer responsible for designing electrical packages for Air Products North America plants. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, designing and ordering electrical equipment, updating and issuing schematic diagrams, wiring connections diagrams, conduit layouts, cable tray layouts, lighting layouts, panel design drawings, fiber network diagrams, conduit and tray support details and any other drawings needed for contractor to properly install a working systems on an existing plant. Travel to and as-built existing drawings and walk down any new package to be develop. Work with contractors during the installation and commissioning phase of the projects.

I currently deliver mechanical engineering and layout design support on two coal-powered generating plant projects and additional smaller projects and special efforts. I design and model piping systems, create equipment layouts, create isometrics, piping system orthographics, general arrangements, equipment setting plans, and various additional drawing types. Selected highlights include:  Developed and integrated mechanical engineering drawings spanning piping isometrics and piping system drawings, piping and instrument diagrams, piping composites and mechanical bills of materials and more.  Design general arrangements, equipment setting plans, and incorporated vendor supplied models into the 3D modeling environment.  Developed and facilitate software usage courses to hundreds of company employees across the United States.  Provided subject matter expertise to mechanical elements of multiple projects.

I was promoted to this role to assist in training new support specialists while holding dual responsibility as a technical support specialist. I designed and developed new training courses to support the company’s 3D modeling visualization software.Selected highlights include:  Played a key role in maintaining intelligent 3D plant modeling software and related databases. Created and implemented new processes and procedures to enhance company plant design processes.  Assigned as the lead SmartPlant electrical administrator for the company’s Toronto office.

In this role, I provided key support to company PDS projects by implementing PDS project software and directory structures, integrating 3D model files, and facilitating setups for Drawing Manager, Isogen, Raceway, Interference, and Design Review Integrator. Selected highlights include:  Loaded and maintained PDS pipe specifications and coordinated all elements of project data. Liaised between the site, vendors, and senior leadership members in the home office to advance projects.  Facilitated training on the Smart Plant Review software at site construction offices and the main office.
