Now retired following a career spanning over 35 years including as a director, volunteer, operational executive and engineer. Director Australian Volunteers International, an organisation supporting sustainable, people centred development, built on relationships across the world. Hands-on experience as a volunteer in Mongolia and previously director and joint founder of Nimbus Advisory, a boutique management consultancy providing services to the infrastructure sector. Prior to this, positions of increasing responsibility within AECOM/Maunsell over 25 years culminating in leadership of the Australian and New Zealand Geography as Chief Executive. Early career foundation in water and coastal engineering.Executive experience includes responsibility for engineering and technology business strategy, profitability, risk management and growth. Merging a background of engineering and management together with a comprehensive understanding of issues responding to development challenges in a “middle-income” country, Michael's interests include assisting ethical companies deliver their mission in what is often a complex and ambiguous environment.
