I held Managing Director positions at 2 privately owned, entrepreneurial businesses: online fashion retailer Joe Browns and luxury bed and furniture maker Harrison Spinks. I spent 17 years at Morrisons in commercial buying and marketing roles, including 7 as Marketing Director, following the acquisition of Safeway. I relaunched the Morrisons store estate and brand, putting Morrisons on the map nationally, as a standard bearer for fresh food. During my time there, store numbers grew from 60 to 450 shops, turnover from £760m to £16.5bn and operating profit to just under £1 billion.I started my career as a graduate trainee at ICI Dulux and enjoyed 5 years in sales and marketing management roles.
