Demand And Supply Manager

Au

As the Demand and Supply Manager I lead a team of 5 consisting of four Demand Planners and the International Freight Coordinator. I am responsible for the forecasting, ordering and international shipping of all import lines into the DC network. Through Covid's challenges I have managed to keep stock availability at 90% or greater, reduced DC stock holdings from $43m to $27m and assisted heavily in the exit of two of the five distribution centers. With the global uncertainty every business did whatever they could to position themselves, including Tradelink, to weather the storm. This meant a great deal of work with very short timeframes to help reduce business costs. I was able to achieve all that was put in front of me and my team by being supportive and empathetic of my team and knowing their limitation. I am very proud with what we were able to achieve during this time.

Demand Planner

Au

While in the role of Demand Planner I had the opportunity to work through all of the categories within Tradelink. Starting in the General Merchandising area where I successfully managed to collaboratively work with a supplier to help them forecast by using projected purchasing plans and getting an understanding of their sourcing which saw back orders in our system circa $100k reduced to a few hundred dollars over a period of three to four months.I then moved in to the high turn over area of the back of wall category where I managed the largest supplier at the time. On commencement with this supplier where average monthly orders were in excess of $2.5 million dollars I developed processes to help reposition stock in the correct locations which in turn saw a reduction in stock holding and a reduction in ordering to an average of $1.2 million.I finally moved into the high profile category that looked after the front of wall stock. In this space I developed and improved production planning to help manage inbound stock. I was also charged with the multi million dollar planning and ordering of the new Oliveri range. This consisted of a large amount of analysis to align to the approved business plan, onboarding suppliers, a multitude of orders and managing the inbound shipments to achieve a launch date all while still performing my other responsibilities. The experience of this role saw me as the most experienced planner in the team with knowledge in all categories. I was given the responsibility of training all new planners and played a large part in defining team processes and development timelines. The experience gained in this role was a large stepping stone into my current role.

Dc Replenishment Analyst

Au

On commencement of my role with Tradelink I was trained in the businesses shipping processes. I was the back up to the International Freight Coordinator and was responsible for all inbound shipments while they we unavailable.I then moved into the replenishment role which saw me manage the monthly cycle of ordering of the back of wall stock into the Distribution Centre's. I gained exposure and further experience to international ordering which gave early insights into the difficulty on ordering with long lead times. The team was restructured where i saw the opportunity to move into a Demand Planner role.

Mar 2015 - Feb 2016

Procurement Officer

Transcity Joint Venture

My day at Transcity can vary greatly. It can range from simple data entry of orders to bending the laws of space and time to achieve the impossible! As I am responsible for the purchasing for the entire site i find myself involved in numerous events from ordering, sourcing, cost management, supplier negotiations, supplier evaluations, product identification and data sourcing, interdepartmental liaising (account setup, payments, credits, updating suppliers). I find it a great challenge of my skillset to achieve what i am asked to do daily and take pride in the knowledge that not only am i achieving the goals set me but also achieving my own personal milestones as well.

Sep 2011 - Mar 2015

Purchasing Manager

Brisbane, Queensland, Au

My role at Albert Smith Group was to best manage the resources provided to ensure all jobs were procured within the budgets outlined for each job. It also involved the utilisation of staff to ensure that stock holdings were accurate and the stores and holding yard were kept in a safe and secure condition. Other requirements of the role were to maintain open lines of communication with both the production and sales teams. This would be to advise of any shortfalls in materials or elongated lead times from subbies or any other feedback (positive or negative) relating to any works progressing through the factory. There was also the ongoing communications with the accounts teams in regards to supplier payment approvals and anything else that was directed by the owner.

Sep 2009 - Sep 2011

Purchasing Officer

Thiess

The role at Thiess was a project based role which incorporated the purchasing of any day to day requirements, any engineered items and on occasions orders for subbies with special conditions attached or orders required to be issued with contracts. I also managed the offsite pick ups and delivery of materials with our own truck and driver. I also was responsible for any dryhire plant onsite (mainly Coates Hire) with keeping track of what was onsite, how long it had been onsite and trying to also get the best value for each item. These items ranged from small flexdrive pumps to excavators, padfoot rollers and 100+ KVA gensets. I was also responsible for one of the 2 stores located onsite with supervisory capacity over the storeman that ran it.
