Depending on the assigned job, operate dump trucks, specialty pumping equipment, specialty paving equipment, sealcoat spray trucks, dirt rollers, flatbed trailers, and specialized asphalt equipment, including equipment and vehicles with air brakes and approximate gross vehicle weight (GVW) ranging from 26,000 to 80,000 pounds. SAFELY OPERATE VEHICLES IN ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS: Independently operate motor vehicles in all types of traffic and weather year-round, including extreme hot and cold temperatures, on highways and in heavy traffic, in rural and urban areas, on rough and steep mountainous terrain, and in close quarters. Operate vehicles up to 4-ton capacity to transport materials to and from work sites, rubber-tired backhoes, and steel-faced vibratory rollers up to 9 tons. Maneuver vehicles into loading and unloading positions following signals from a loading crew. Ensure vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned. Secure cargo per DOT requirements. SNOW REMOVAL: Use skid steers, backhoes, wheel loaders, and trucks with snow plows for snow removal from streets, parking lots, and vehicle paths.MAINTENANCE: Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance checks and services (PMCS) on vehicles operated. Monitor fluid levels; add fuel, oil, and hydraulic fluid; replace air filters and interior lights, and check tire pressure and hose connections. Wash vehicles, and ensure vehicles are orderly, neat, and clean.
