Michael Baughan has led multidiscipline engineering teams as the Engineering Discipline Lead as Associate Director and Technical Director for the Structural Engineering departments of leading UK and international engineering consultancies including for WS Atkins and Parsons Brinckerhoff | WSP. In these roles Michael has been responsible for one of the principal structural engineering departments within the UK business. Michael has wide experience in the design and construction of complex building structures over a 30 year period with UK practices and international consultants delivering engineering support and accountability for clients and colleagues goals and aspirations. He has worked extensively with professionals from all areas of the buildings and private/public infrastructure sectors, helping to develop multidisciplinary solutions for complex structures and building programmes throughout the UK as the Structural Engineer, Project Leader, Project Manager and C&S Discipline Design Team Principal for multi discipline and multi office office location appointments.Specialties: Michael has gained valuable experience in sustainable new build, refurbishment and redevelopment of existing structures, including complex modifications to buildings that require significant investigation and back-analysis, destructive and non-destructive structural investigation.
