Pontiac, Michigan
Started as a Security Officer and was promoted in July to Sgt. and supervisor of the 2nd shift at GM Powertrain in Pontiac.
Madison Heights, Michigan
I was recruited to organize, correct regulatory deficiencies and get the department running smoothly again, after being managed by an outside concern for the previous 4 years. During my tenure at Riverview I was the Super-user for the Radiology Department in the E-Care transition which included RadNet, Cerner and Power chart. After the closing of Riverview I transferred to Oakland, assuming the Lead tech duties 2 ½ months later. I was in charge of the restructuring from a generator system to the use of the unit doses in the ordering of radio-isotopes and the installation of a hot-lab computer system. During that fiscal year this change allowed me to return 1/3 of the pharmaceutical budget back to the general fund, well above what management was asking.
I was recruited to coordinate the transition back to in-house technologists. Evaluate, identify and correct any and all regulatory deficiencies. Maintain a smooth and efficiently transitioning process while increasing our attention to the need for better patient care.
Along with all the duties in a fully operational department, I was also involved in the Trinity hospital System transition to the Genesys system at Macomb as a super-user for the nuclear medicine department in Cerner, IDX-Rad and Mars.
Operation of all equipment in a fully functional department. Initiating, evaluating and doing of all exams ordered.
Operation of Seimens E-Cam and Dia-Cam Imaging systems and associated computers. I am fully capable in all the processing functions involved. I am fully trained in quality control, starting of IV's, injections, obtaining of patient histories, preparation of radio pharmaceutical, and all imaging procedures including Neotect, Miraluma, Indium WBC's and thyroid therapies
Working in a fully functional 2-camera department, we did all exams and operated a full hot lab.
Started Nuclear Medicine as a new service for the hospital. Researched, wrote and implemented all policies and procedures. Assisted in the choosing and purchase of a SPECT camera so we could offer our physicians and patients gated SPECT cardiac testing. I also assisted in the planning of a new department during an expansion of the Emergency, Radiology and Laboratory departments. I also ran the Radiation Safety Committee for the RSO/Radiologist.
Started in Nuclear Medicine after graduating from radiology school. I did all studies available at the time with the original Picker Rectilinear imaging system. The department was upgraded in 1976 with a Picker Pho-Gamma camera. I did all nuclear medicineexams available at the time including the new Th201 cardiac imaging stress tests.I also routinely did x-rays and ultrasound exams, and also had on-call responsibility in all three areas.
