I served as a member of the board for almost two decades. The board administers the activities of the foundation, established in 1986 to honour Jack Webster, a giant of the Canadian broadcast and print community and icon of excellence in journalism. The foundation holds its annual journalism awards banquet each year, an event that attracts more than 1,000 of Vancouver's civic and business leaders to recognize the best of journalism in the province in the previous year. As a trustee, I was chair of the journalists' education committee which seeks to sponsor and support a range of professional development opportunities for BC journalists.

Chief spokesperson for the senior regulatory watchdog for BC capital markets; oversaw media relations, investor education programs, corporate communications functions including the commission's annual report. Guided a process of achieving a new logo and brand identity for the commission and organized a network of partners in the securities industry, seniors and consumer groups to deliver investor education throughout BC.communicators

Provided strategic communications advice to a number of Verus Group clients including Uniglobe Travel International, TimberWest Forest Products, and A. J. Galbraith and Associates. Organized several highly successful editorial placement campaigns including one for Uniglobe Travel that reaches more than 48 million readers throughout the US and Canada. Orchestrated a media campaign that assisted a Nova Scotia developer to sell 250 homes in less than seven weeks with a combination of broadcast and print media support for "the cheapest retirement homes in Canada."

Senior reporter and editor with substantial experience and network connections with the daily print and broadcast media across Canada. Beats included Western Canada business correspondent, law courts, Vancouver Stock Exchange, forestry, mining and service industries, desk editing of BC generated copy from newspapers and radio stations throughout BC.
