• Collaborated closely with vendors, health physicists, and machinists to ensure project feasibilityand to streamline project completion
• Oversaw $60,000 to design and construct the beamline for 50% less than similar beamlines
• Designed the ion optics to focus a 16.5 MeV proton beam to a 100um2 spot, using SIMION and COMSOL, and designed the high vacuum system using Solid Works
• Conceptualized and designed (using COMSOL and Solid Works) a very high flux fast neutron source which overcomes issues with heat transfer, mass transfer, materials, beam dynamics, and radiological hazards
