Having just completed 3 years as the UK Defence Attaché to China, Mike is an accomplished diplomat, real strategic thinker and considered a China expert by the Ministry of Defence. Mike has a deep knowledge of geo-political and national security risks and advised UK Government on key Indo-Pacific security challenges. Working with the British Chamber of Commerce Beijing he supported/advised British Business in China on Defence & Security matters. Mike has spent 29 successful years in the Royal Air Force and has a wealth of leadership and ‘followership’ experience, a proven track record in building teams, inculcating change through effective communication, managing and mitigating statutory and non-statutory risk (often ‘risks to life’) and organisational governance. As Station Commander RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus (Airport & Seaport CEO) 2018 - 2019 he was responsible for leading and providing a safe environment for circa 4000 people & £2.8bn equipment to deliver operations. Mike has been advising Boards or operating at Board-level in various mil and x-Government organisations since 2014. He brings an energy and enthusiasm to all that he does and is passionate about people.
