Michael has more than 30 years experience as educator and leader in environment and community development. He has post-secondary degrees/diplomas in nutrition, wildlife biology and veterinary science and has been involved in Canada and internationally for over 30 years in a wide variety of activities involving ethics, ecology and human development.Under his leadership Harmony Foundation has been widely recognized for its pioneering work in education for the environment and sustainable community development in building bridges between business, government and community interests. Michael Bloomfield has received many awards for his leadership in community service and environmental education, including the prestigious United Nations Environmental Programme's Global 500 Award, The Commonwealth Foundation Fellowship and The Ethics in Action Award for Lifetime Achievement. He also is actively involved in charitable work as a volunteer for such causes as youth at risk, homelessness and animal protection and actively mentors up and coming organizations and individuals.
