Decades of experience as journalist and editor. I co-founded The Signal, which built a readership of 300,000 in 18 months. My reporting focuses on the most urgent international and U.S. political and economic issues: rising authoritarian populism, Ukraine, China, polarization, climate, energy. I spent five years in the Middle East as a journalist, covering conflict and writing political analysis and op-eds. My editing experience includes serving as managing editor at a think tank concentrating on competition policy and monopoly. I led the creation of a style guide intended to set industry standards for entries about the developing world and social justice.
