Currently searching for work in the northern Minnesota region. I am currently under review at BARR Engineering for potential Air Quality Specialist. My resume is being updated and I have been very busy digging out of the deep freeze we had this winter as temperatures climb into the high 40's.

The main duties of a Hydrologic Technician is to continue the data collection and sampling of our nations water and how it pertains to the overall quality of it's watershed. The various ways we would sample would usually consist of grab sample, in-situ via bottle, testing for mercury, organic and in-organics, pesticides, e-coli and other natural bacteria's. I would usually also filter 90% of what I grabbed and sampled within the mobile water lab that we drive to all our sites. Samples would then be filtered, acidified or other proper ways of maintaing original conditions and then frozen or driven to water labs nearby. The other side of a hydrologic technician is the physical side. Gage station creation, maintenance and over all upkeep and repairs. This requires a good amount of knowledge in most construction and pertaining told ( knowledge of ) safety and OSHA trainings and Fabrication of parts needed for the job. Not only do you need to know how to make and fix and repair all of this but you have to do it mostly in the field. Orienteering and hiking in all seasons, conditions and environments makes a Hydrologic Technician a tough and rare find in the job market world. Some days we would have to hike in miles with hundreds of pounds of luggage to haul in, most of it expensive equipment. To be able to put all of the scenario's together gives you an idea of the day to day normalcy of a Hydrologic Technicians in most locations they work.

Haul, cut and distinguish core and cores structure while conducting daily work. These were the three basic and main work objectives among many many more. Driving skills, drill rig Identification and safety understanding. Responsible for million dollar equipment and the security of legal information about pre-feasibility work when dealing with high risk information.

Monitored the condition of the beginning of the Upper Mississippi Wildlife Refuge System. (Largest of it's kind on the United States) We would use several different types of nettings, shocking and styles of collecting samples fish and the exact conditions of their environments we collected them in. Collected water samples with MN water specialists for long term water quality study. Used multiple type of water craft and different types of sampling as well.

Worked with and lead teams into remote areas of northern Minnesota orienteering to find old casings from past drilling events. Once found Slug tests were given as well as other rock permeability testing. The consulting group chose me due to my past experience working in that area with Twin Metals Minnesota.
