As an experienced oncology nurse with a passion for patient care and continuous learning, I am dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. Raised in Lexington, Ohio, my journey began with a love for sports, where I developed perseverance and leadership skills.I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ohio State University and currently serve as a charge and progressive care nurse at the James Cancer Hospital, specializing in oncology. I manage complex cases and lead a dedicated team on the 18th floor, known for cutting-edge clinical trials and comprehensive cancer care; thoracic/orthopedic/medical oncology. The COVID-19 pandemic was a defining period in my career, testing my resilience and dedication. Despite the challenges, I embraced my responsibilities with grit and compassion, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.I am pursuing a master's degree in nursing, focusing on medical/surgical and radiation oncology. My first clinical rotation is under the mentorship of Jonathan Amico, managing patients with complex conditions such as sickle cell anemia and consulting on new cases, while staying updated on advancements like Casgevy therapy.I have a strong interest in radiation oncology, particularly in cutting-edge technologies and treatments such as flash therapy. My passion extends to telehealth and telemedicine, recognizing their potential to enhance patient care access and management. I am also keenly interested in AI in medicine, aiming to improve healthcare efficiency and reduce costs.Outside of work, I am deeply committed to my family. My wife, Abbey, is a Clinical Applications Specialist at Vision RT. Together, we navigate the joys and challenges of parenthood, balancing our professional ambitions with our family's needs.Our journey includes significant events, such as the loss of my nephew, Levi, to Wilms Tumor, which further fueled my commitment to oncology nursing. This experience reinforced my dedication to providing empathetic and comprehensive care.In addition to my clinical expertise, I have experience with various timekeeping systems and managing payroll complexities. My technical skills are complemented by my ability to build strong patient-provider relationships, essential in managing multi-complex conditions.My career is driven by a passion for making a tangible impact in oncology and hematology.
