Supporting a caseload of 20 vulnerable young people into Education, Employment, or Training (EET), using various motivational techniques, funnelled interviewing and counselling techniques, including Solution Focussed and Cognitive Behavioural therapy. Working with clients who are drawn from diverse backgrounds e.g. those who are socially deprived, many of whom are from broken families but all of whom are disaffected with, or excluded from education, also supporting young people who have experienced bereavement or other serious emotional issues. (75% of case-load have gone on to enter EET having successfully received assistance to address & overcome their problems and issues). Chairing Child in Need meetings in the role of a trained Lead Professional.Referrals to other agencies: e.g. CAMHS, completing CAF documentation and in making successful funding applications. Working in partnership in a multi-agency environment, networking is a particular strength with organisations that include e.g. Children services, schools, EWO, YOS & Housing. Co-ordinating Wokingham Connexion’s first and second Summer project in 2009/2010).

Successes includedMet examination deadlines within 4 weeks of being in post (normally a 12 week process).Developed and implemented an income generating scheme in the examination department.Changed and improved examination entry process for the whole school. Managed a £120,000 budget.Became competent in data processing, using SIMS and Nova-T packages.

Within a challenging school environment taught A-level Business to class of 15 pupils and GCSE to classes of 30 pupils.Year 9 form tutor.Achieved 100% pass rate at A-level and B-Tec First Diploma Business Studies. Supported the schools aims, policies and development plans this being consistent with behavioural management.

Taught Economics and Business at A-level and Applied Business Studies GCSE. Young Enterprise link teacher. Departmental responsibility for Applied Business GCSE. Deputy Year Leader for 330 pupils and 12 tutors.Successes Achieved Included Added value by improving predicted grades for 40% of students in GCSE Business. Achieved 100% A-level pass rate and 65% A-C at Business GCSE. Developed partnerships with Sainsbury's and SP Systems Ltd for the department. Seconded to SP Systems for middle management training.Reduced unauthorised absence by 2% year on year. Led fund-raising activities for World Challenge Expedition and Comic Relief in 2002 and 2004 respectively. Completed World Challenge expedition to Krygstan in 2002 and experienced supervision of other overseas trips.

Taught Key Stage 4 and 5 Business Studies and Leisure and Tourism. Achieved 100% pass rate in all subjects. Taught inaugural behavioural group at the school.Introduced Duke of Edinburgh (D of E) to the school and coached rugby union.

This qualification provided me with the necessary skills and knowledge to face the current challenges in housing, covering key issues.
