Community sustainability planning, technical assistance, and outreach for the DEC Climate Smart Communities program. Highlights include:-Crafting climate action plans, climate change adaptation and resiliency plans, and greenhouse gas inventories for local governments using participatory and equitable planning processes. -Facilitating numerous public meetings around climate change mitigation, sustainable transportation, and climate change scenario workshops. -Utilizing GIS to create region wide and local maps of EV charging stations and quantities of registered EVs or PHEVs in Central New York.-Connecting and assisting local governments with state and federal funding sources for climate change mitigation and adaptation projects, including the CSC Grants program through the NYS CFA.-Wrote and was successfully awarded a $9M United States Forest Service grant to provide region wide funding for tree inventories, urban forest master plans, forestry project implementation, technical assistance through circuit rider ISA certified arborists, and workforce development programs in conjunction with local partners and community based organizations with a focus on disadvantaged communities.-Working collaboratively with a statewide network of CSC Coordinators to advance program goals, statewide emissions goals, and inform the public about climate change.
