Unifi is a multinational financial technology company that specialises in personal lending products targeted at individuals in formal employment. The company is based in South Africa with operations throughout sub Saharan Africa, including South Africa, Kenya, Zambia and Uganda. The business provides financial products that are specifically tailored to their clients’ needs, with a strong emphasis on IT and data analysis.I was appointed by Unifi to both set up and manage operations in Uganda. The role was multi-faceted, with duties that included; recruiting and overseeing a staff contingent, managing the financial and budgeting process and directly overseeing the marketing and operations functions. I also served on the board of Unifi Uganda to drive and set the strategy for the local business.
