In the age of technology, billions of photographs are taken each day. As a photographer, I like to make sure that everything is right before I take a photo because I believe quality is greater than quantity. Let's slow down and take some photos whether it be with a digital camera, on analog film, or the classic wet plate collodion process. Each process captures different kinds of magic, digital lets me capture movement and document the present at high speed. Film allows me to document raw emotion with an air of nostalgia and personability. Finally, tintypes allow me to understand, learn about and capture something's pure essence.As a digital native, I am constantly drawn to the ways and technologies of the past because in some aspects they were simpler. The biggest aspect is that they are tangible and mechanical, ready to last for decades to come with proper maintenance.
