BBC Essex is a self contained radio station, serving 250,000 listeners. As the stations sole engineer, I ensured the station stayed on air and also rigged our outside broadcasts and events.

I was one of the engineering team maintaining national radio services. I later moved to BBC television Centre as a commissioning engineer and maintaining both Radio and TV studios.Key Achievements - career:Rigging a temporary radio station on a disused lightship anchored off the Essex coast to mark the 40th anniversary of Pirate Radio. The broadcast was relayed on Radio 2 and six local stations in the East of England.Design and build of a talkback unit for use at major eventsAssisting with the integration of digital broadcast and control systems with existing infrastructureKey Achievements - non career:One patent pending for a power producing low temperature differential Stirling engine.Design and build of said engine, using grant funding from the East of England development agency.
