- Understanding and managing the Long Term Forest Plan- Assisting with the tendering process and prospecting for future business- Building up strong relationships with fellow estate foresters and land owners - Designing and managing current amenity woodlands to produce seed stands for Christie-Elite nursery

Duties:• Identifying Trees of Concern throughout the Estate and taking the appropriate action• Thinning operations• Firewood processing and delivery• Other forestry related tasked such as tree planting, road-side tree pruning, blown trees• Organising the supply of woodchip for the Hill of Banchory Energy Centre (www.hobesco.co.uk)• Ensuring the smaller pellet powered boilers on the Estate have enough pellets and ash bins are emptied• Represent Leys Estate at Grampian Biomass Working Group meetings• Organising the harvesting of 30ha of Short Rotation Willow
