Starting as a Lead Solutions Architect before taking on the management role for both the DACH and Northern Europe / Benelux regions my wide ranging responsibilities included establishing and growing the team of Solution Architects across the regions, supporting complex customer engagements, while also ensuring the success of the company's strategy in EMEA.

As a Solution Architect based in Zürich I was the technical lead on all opportunities across the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), responsible for designing and architecting public and private, as well as hybrid cloud solutions. I worked closely with the local DACH sales and marketing teams while also being a part of the global team covering EMEA, the US, and APAC regions. As the DACH market is a growth region I primarily work with our acquisition and growth customers while also supporting our existing install base. A large part of my responsibilities in a growth region is to provide education on who we are and how we can solve challenges. In terms of technology this means discussing, designing, and delivering solutions based on AWS, Microsoft Azure, as well as OpenStack and traditional managed hosting offerings.

As a Senior Solutions Engineer at Rackspace my primary responsibility was to be the technical lead on sales opportunities. I worked as a part of a larger team to design and architect solutions ranging from traditional managed hosting solutions, through to public and private clouds extending into hybrid platforms. Being based in London I operated as part of a global team across Europe, the US, and APAC regions, to leverage the skills and expertise needed.During this time I had the opportunity to work with a wide range of customers across a wide range of industries. I initially starting with our UK based SMB and Enterprise customers covering both acquisition and install base, before moving on to support our growth markets in the Middle East and Africa, Nordics, and Israel.

As a Systems Engineer working for an IT distributor I was the senior technical resource for the local sales team as well as our partners and resellers. My responsibilities ranged from providing technical pre-sales design and architecture guidance, through to running professional services engagements and project implementations. Working for a small company my range of duties also extended into operating and maintaining the internal corporate IT systems, as well as providing 1st through to 3rd level technical support for a number of our key offerings.

As the Network Administrator in a regional office of a company serving the APAC region, I was responsible for the uptime of the local IT network and systems to support multiple internal customers. My duties included both implementing the corporate IT strategy as well as advising and providing feedback to the national IT director.
