I now work at the head office of Sandvik Coromant and Machining Solutions as a Process Expert in the department responsible for Process and Systems.The main demands of the job are working alongside many other groups to assist with advice and guidance to deliver new technology to production and also to ensure that proper process is followed and best use is being made of existing systems.As this role is based at headquarters, it involves a lot of travel to meet and work alongside colleagues in our production units.

Due to the demands of the factory, my role expanded from my previous position to include the engineering duties in the final areas of the plant.

In the Costing and Technical Support role, I was responsible for quotations and set up of new products production methods, using contacts in each area of the plant to define and specify the production path prior to an order arriving at the plant.I also used my time in this role to develop the IT systems in use in the factory and where possible, to increase the quality of data acquisition while streamlining the methods by which the data is acquired. This was ultimately to enable us to create rich, detailed and accurate production reports with less operator overheads than before.
