Provide leadership in the daily operation of Origin Energy's East-Coast wholesale natural gas portfolio.• Helped to lead the successful development and implementation of Origin’s new Trading Operations Gas System, including the retraining of 14 traders.

Along with my responsibilities as an Energy Trader, in this role I also:• Provide subject-matter expertise in South-East Australian gas markets for more experienced traders.• Provide input into new gas supply and gas transportation agreements, and medium term gas portfolio strategy. For example, optimising transport MDQ to reduce costs by ~20%.• Develop and implement new operating strategies within Origin's existing contract portfolio.

On top of the roles I performed as an Energy Trading Analyst, I also:• Develop and execute Origin's daily strategy in the Short Term Trading Markets (Adelaide and Sydney) and Declared Wholesale Gas Market (Victoria).• Participate in setting weekly gas market strategy.• Act as a first point of support for more junior traders.

I perform gas scheduling and trading in Australia's south-east wholesale natural gas markets. My responsibilities in this role include:• Optimising Origin's gas portfolio on a daily/weekly basis to meet gas demand at minimum cost.• Undertake market and competitor analysis, including the South-Eastern Australia wholesale markets and the Pipeline Capacity Auction market.• Develop new models to assist with the above, and improve existing models.• Train new hires in the gas scheduling tasks, and update training materials as required.
