My experience working with electrical power production began with 9 years work and training in the Air Force. My last two years of active duty were spent teaching advanced power systems including generator, automatic transfer switch, and advanced electronics. Upon leaving the Air Force, I had the opportunity to work with Nixon Power Services who is the Kohler Distributor in the Middle TN area. Troops to Teachers contacted me with an opportunity to teach electronics and computer science at the high school level in Tennessee. This work in public school also afforded the chance to work in administration for many years. After a fantastic experience with the Troops to Teachers Program, I came back to work with Nixon. Before moving to Missouri. In Missouri, I was offered a curriculum development job with the Air Force on Fort Leonard Wood. After relocating to Texas, I went to work with Holt Caterpillar. Holt hired me to work as an EPG technician installing and commissioning generators. Recently, an opportunity was extended for me to returning to training, instruction, and curriculum development in Electrical Power. I'm looking forward to growing in this position supporting techs as they gain knowledge and skills to grow in their positions.Additionally, through the support of mentors and coaches, the chance to enter leadership came along. In addition to teaching Electrical Power Generation, I now serve the Holt Cat of Texas Technical Training Department as the Technical Training Manager. Some may be familiar with its name, ProTech! Once again, I enter this role with high hopes of supporting managers and techs to gain knowledge and skills to the realization of rewarding careers with Holt.
