As the 4th technical support representative hired in 1991 I was soon to become part of the largest computer distribution empire on the planet. The staff ballooned to over 200 on the support team. Our role was to assimilate technology at an accelerated rate so we could support state of the art technology at its inception. I was trained on Microsoft Server (soon to be called NT) weeks before its eventual release. I actually have a 4 digit Microsoft Certified Professional number. Ingram was a giant sabbatical for technology. I received many industry certifications and attended hundreds of training sessions. As a support specialist I also had the responsibility to promote the IBM product line at various industry venues. I was in attendance at Comdex east and west / Net Expo in Boston / the Ingram Showcases throughout the nation for many years. Lest we forget my primary function was to provide quality technical phone support for the computer resellers of the nation. I serviced over 60,000 requests for support ranging from something as simple as a part number look up to the complexities of deploying Novell in multiple sites. While there I received many service awards including setting a yet to be matched record of 120 letters from satisfied customers in a single year. Show less
