Mike is an active venture and ecosystem builder, director and conviction investor who has fostered new models for public-private partnerships to solve some of the world's most pressing challenges including food security and nutrition, modern slavery, climate change, health and wellbeing. He is driven by a passion for enabling deep tech innovation-by-design, with a strong social inclusion lens that recognises gender and equity dimensions of global challenges.Mike has pioneered commercial applications of big data and analytics across various industries and has founded and co-founded over 10 companies including a world leading global fintech and a $150m public private partnership to drive digital agriculture investment and commercialisation.Mike is currently the Executive Chairman of The Salmon Project, a partnership formed to support for-purpose companies to scale their impact. He is also a Director of the Internet of Things Alliance Australia, an Advisory Board member of Investible’s Climate Tech Fund, a Program Board member for Digital Earth Australia and a Startupbootcamp Mentor. In 2016 Mike was recognised in the Queen’s Birthday honours and was appointed as an Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia for his distinguished service to the finance, research and digital technology sectors as well as to the sport of Judo.
