Build and enhance performance across Global Manufacturing and Supply. Ensure robust learning systems are in place and appropriate technical learning solutions are in place. Provide coaching and support to make sure there are appropriate capabilities in place to support effective learning systems. Developed a process knowledge training program that demonstrated reduce time to competence and won a Brandon Hall Award.

Responsible for technical training program oversight for a site of 1000 employees. Primary contact for regulatory inspections for presentations and questions regarding training. Managed external training vendors and evaluated potential vendors. Reporting on training effectiveness and opportunities for improvement. Selected accomplishments: Curriculum redesign project which standardized training assignments across similar job titles. Reduced unnecessary training assignments by 20%. Developed an on-boarding program that successfully brought on over 300 employees in a year Identified required positions and built a team of nine professionals to deliver technical training in two months Delivered over 13000 hours of training in the first year of the team Identified the need and created specialized manufacturing systems training that simulated the control systems and manufacturing execution systems to effectively transfer skills to associates and prepared them to operate with the high level of automation at the site.

Acted as internal consultant to provide technical leadership on multiple projects. Oversee creation and presentation of training program focused on computerized process control systems. Collaborate with other offices resulting in corporate training effectiveness measurement system based on pilot system in Los Angeles. Selected accomplishments:• Developed process control system upgrade strategy for several systems that quantified life cycle investment• Project manager for the largest automation project during a facility shutdown that started up ahead of schedule, allowing for an extra seven lots of production• Performed network analysis to identify areas for improvement. Implemented a plan to correct security gaps and simplify manufacturing network architecture. Accountable for information systems services provided to operations teams at multiple sites for manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering. Directed enterprise resource, warehouse management, and data collection systems plus mobile devices, and radio communication. Mapped processes for entire value chain to identify improvements in information systems. Served as primary institutional expert for OSI PI historian. Consulted with different locations and helped with system launches. Devised manufacturing and quality training classes.Selected accomplishments:• Played key role on global team that transformed information technology team from site-based to global-based model. • Developed the site’s long term automation and electronic batch reporting strategy

Managed four automation engineers in facility expansion. Built and approved OSI PI site-wide historian and RtReports systems. Conceived system architecture including high availability servers, repeated interfaces, and merged current embedded DeltaV PI historian with site historian. Instituted plant maintenance trial with OSI PI, DeltaV, and web visualization to change from periodic to predictive maintenance due to equipment operating schedules.Selected accomplishments:• Managed the process control engineering group • Executed work tracking and reporting system to easily convey priorities and timing to leadership.

Served as project manager and design engineer for manufacturing network infrastructure revisions for improved reliability. Led remote access project team that provided automation engineers with capability to access control systems off-site with existing business network infrastructure resulting in faster manufacturing problem response. Oversaw automation technical project during major facility startup including control system specification, process design, commissioning, code changes, system repairs, and loop tuning. Designed, installed, and validated Microsoft Cluster system for OSI PI plant-wide data historian.Selected accomplishments:• Selected as automation technical lead during major facility startup.• Created and implemented an improved control room power distribution system.

Served as primary pilot plant engineer on several upgrade projects to improve cGMP compliance and operator safety. Conducted design of capital projects, including developing an upgrade plan for four laboratory manufacturing suites. Led a team of technicians, mechanics, and electricians during five different capital projects in all phases: design, construction, commissioning, and qualification. The projects were a $40 million investment over five years. Received the PGRD Achievement Award, the highest division award, for successful project completion Designed and commissioned a high shear wet mill skid system for solution milling of pharmaceutical active ingredient Upgraded automation system for the pilot plant and completed all validation activities in two weeks Implemented an electronic records remediation plan for the plant control system   Trained process engineers on recipe development and created a recipe development tool to simplify recipe creation Developed a training class for quality assurance colleagues that were involved in batch record review that spanned equipment operation, process control systems, and data collection. The class met weekly for four hours over a period of six months. Implemented a mechanical integrity/preventive maintenance program for pilot plant  Developed a unique approach for plug and play equipment using Foundation Fieldbus, DeviceNet, and DeltaV for mobile, instrumented cleaning skids. Presented the results at Emerson Exchange. Supervised a team of five technicians to commission six reactors and completed all validation protocols Trained technicians on equipment operation, automation systems, and validation documentation

Devised custom training lesson on how to configure DeltaV for customer engineering employees. Designed control system code to manage multiple purification processes within blood plasma production plant. Selected accomplishments:Simplified control strategies during implementation to reduce commissioning time.

 Responsible for day to day operation, troubleshooting, and scheduling of a multi-product facility that consisted of four reactor trains, two distillation columns, and supporting utilities. Project manager for capital projects that increased production capacity, replaced equipment, and improved unit reliability. Lead engineer for control system replacement projects in my area of responsibility. Received the Albemarle Performance Excellence (APEX) award on three different occasions for control system replacement projects.
