Started working as part of the rotational Graduate Programme at Astellas, Killorglin in September 2023. First rotation was QC Microbiology, where my role involved working as part of the Media Preparation and Environmental Monitoring teams and during my time in QC Micro I perfromed the following tasks:• Standard load validation and routine requalification on the QC Micro autoclave• Environmental Monitoring of the isolator unit, aseptic filling line and surrounding rooms on a weekly basis, environmental monitoring of capsule production area and the QC Micro laboratory as required. • Microbial identifications of isolates in accordance with procedures.• Microbial testing of water samples including WFI, pure steam, purified, and potable.• Recording and investigating Alert/Alarm Non-Conformances on Trackwise when required.• QC acceptance testing of media, diluents and sterile reagents by performing growth Promotion, pH testing and sterility testing.• Use of LIMS to record monitoring data.• Updating documents on Vault• Participating in Graduate duties such as leading lab tours, volunteering for Time to Count, organizing TY weeks/site visits and much more activities.After 14 months at Astellas I rotated to Capsule production and became a process/manufacturing engineer graduate

Worked as a QA intern for 7 months as part of my placement module in 3rd year Biotechnology. This placement opportunity taught me many things about the pharmaceutical industry, the differences between academia and industry work, the level of detail in the procedures of industry work and so much more invaluable experience.My day-to-day role involved me working with supplier quality and document control (DCC). Other tasks included:• Used GDocP and the principles of ALCOA+, to achieve daily tasks in the office such as the issuance and of MBRs and the review and filing of documents and logbooks in Document Control and any other QA task that was required by the QA manager.• Completed supplier updates on Trackwise. Work consisted mainly of communicating with vendors to confirm the responsible supplier, update the material grids, confirm the supplier level and material sub-type and initiate quality agreements. • Supported the process of 2 regulatory inspections, from the Irish and US regulatory bodies: HPRA and FDA respectively.• Participated in weekly SDI meetings.• Used the Quality Management System and electronic Document Management System to update the QA meeting board 3 times a week with company metrics. • Participated in QA inspections of the upstream and downstream cleanrooms and the dispensary.

• Responsible for taking orders, preparing tables, serving food, making guests feel welcome and cleaning.• Adapted quickly to different roles as required by the hotel. • Communicated with colleagues to be more efficient as the hotel restaurant was very busy (center of Killarney).d.
