As a consultant for Shipley, I manage proposals (usually for government contract) for clients across the country. As a trainer, I teach Shipley courses that empower proposal managers and writers to succeed in their own proposal efforts.

I've held numerous leadership positions throughout a 21-year Army career (including multiple combat deployments and overseas tours). Some highlights:- Operations Center Chief (2012-2014): Singularly managed a 24/7/365, 17-person current operations center for an 900-person Army headquarters focused on disaster relief and international security cooperation; responded to real-world events, including 2012's Hurricane Sandy- Intercultural Military Advisor / Mentor (2011-2012): Personally advised/mentored the senior Iraqi leaders responsible for security in Iraq’s Babil Province (a territory larger than Rhode Island, with a population of 1.7 million)- Contingency Command Post Chief of Operations (2009-2011): Supplied vision and direction for a 45-person core staff prepared to deploy for disaster response- President of the 4th Infantry Division Association’s Fort Hood/Fort Carson Chapter (2007-2009): spearheaded fundraising and construction efforts for a $200k addition to a standing memorial at Fort Hood, resulting in a beautiful permanent concrete, brick, and copper structure; wrote and won a major grant from the Albert and Ethel Herzstein Charitable Foundation for the purpose of the memorial - Battalion Executive Officer (2006-2007): second-in-command of a 1450-person deployed unit with diverse missions throughout Baghdad, Iraq; responsible for the accountability and maintenance of over 400 major pieces of motorized, mechanized, and communications equipment- Assistant Professor / Instructor of English and Philosophy (2001-2004): Taught West Point cadets composition and philosophy; also planned two major offsite conferences, the largest with 300 attendees
