Moving to a smaller store, I took on a larger role as a fresh manager. I lead a team of 42 colleagues and report directly to the General Store Manager. I also carry out the role of Duty Manager in the absence of the GSM. My key objectives include achieving sales plan, delivery of great customer service, keeping in control of all budgets.

Clydebank

I was offered a move to the Clydebank store as warehouse manager. Before my arrival, the warehouse was in need of a full restructure. I oversaw the change of the warehouse layout, sharpening of the health and safety procedures, and retraining of colleagues. Overall it was a fantastic experience, as it added greatly to my management skills. In mid 2007, the GSM asked me to move back to a trading role as the fresh replenishment manager. I oversaw the daily running and operations of the Fresh Departments in store.The average weekly turnover for Clydebank was around £900k.

Bearsden

I changed role to the warehouse manager for the new store. Tasked with setting up a brand new warehouse from scratch, it was a challenging new endeavour.This included the formation and training of a brand new team of colleagues, which proved very successful.My duties included the daily running of the store's warehouse and colleagues, including maintaining safety,and the logistics of the store.The new store's weekly turnover was around £700k.

Hamilton

Grocery manager, with another step up in size, Hamilton's average weekly turnover regularly broke the £1m barrier.Hamilton was our company area Training store for the West of Scotland.Managing the ambient department and liaising the training in store for other store managers coming through to train and receive updates on their training.

Linwood

Responsible for the daily operations and standards for the grocery department, as with Bearsden. This was a step up to a larger store, with weekly turnover around £800k.
