Burke’s dedication to the mission of Catholic education has led him on a journey that includes starting two Catholic schools; serving in school administrative positions in parish, religious order and diocesan governance structures; and revitalizing under performing schools. Burke led the turn-around at MCC despite layoffs in the space shuttle program that had a negative effect on the local economy. In 4 years, he guided the school to an enrollment increase of 65% after 11 consecutive years of declining enrollment. His work at MCC included reforming the budget from a $300k shortfall to a surplus. He championed 2 major initiatives: establishing an international student program and a partnership with Florida Institute of Technology.
