Mr. Cofield is a highly motivated and self sufficient music educator in West Palm Beach, Florida. He is currently serving as the Director of Bands at Suncoast High School in Riviera Beach, Florida. This is his 12th year as an educator in the public school system.Mr. Cofield daily duties consist of mentally and physically preparing students for musical performances throughout the year. Utilizing appropriate techniques through warm-ups, fundamental practices, appropriate music literature and setting standards for performances. Students will be able to perform at the highest level in accordance with the state of Florida music education standards.Michael possess an advanced level of band ensemble (concert, marching and jazz) skills and fundamentals in music composing/arranging on the music software, Finale. In addition, Michael possess advanced knowledge in the instrumental families of brass, woodwind and percussion that aide in providing a total and well rounded lesson for young musicians.In consecutive years, Mr. Cofield has taken his bands to perform at district marching and concert band festivals. Earning Excellent and Superior ratings in Concert and Marching band festivals. Traveling performances are the main focus for bands while understanding that using music as a tool for branching out and reaching mass quantities of audiences in any manner consistent with the highest standard of performance.
