As a detailer in the piping trades my duties vary and include some review or input regarding nearly every aspect of the construction phase. My current duties include but are not limited to:-Using AutoCAD MEP, AutoCAD Fabrication, Navisworks and Revit for 3d design and manufacturing of piping systems-Conferring with project management, engineering, manufacturing and installation teams to advance and complete projects with topics such as: -Material Selection -Sizing and design -Means and methods of construction and installation -Calendar management for deliverables and manufacturing documents -Requesting outside engineering for structural or other non mechanical engineering issues-Production of construction "shop" drawings and detail drawing of 3d designs-Field layout drawings of equipment, supports, and piping-Work with BIM and other coordination teams for multi trade coordination efforts.-Production of 3d virtual models of piping systems from 2d engineered drawings and 3d Revit models-Production of material orders for projects for field and manufacturing teams

I manage a team of 11 VDC coordinators for mechanical piping and plumbing projects in the Bay Area. My team works on numerous concurrent projects with a combined value of $20-$40 million dollars. During my time here as the manager we tripled the size of the team and developed strategies and standards to properly execute our rapidly growing back log of projects. We work collaboratively to program and customize the user environment in Revit and CAD MEP Fabrication to increase efficiency and automate tasks while capturing and coding hard learned lessons from our independent contributors into the day to day tasks of each team member. In short we leverage the computer to do as much as possible to free us up for making decisions. I have had to learn things I never thought a pipe fitter would need. I dabble in four programming langues, C#, AutoLISP, AutoScript, and VSB. I have also learned how to work in MS Visual Studio and create API specific templates for REVIT API, FAB API, and AutoCAD API as well as creating packages to load into each software.
