I began as an educator in Calgary's public and private school systems. During my time there, I learned how to work in an environment that is chaotic, highly collaborative and relies on strong problem solving and interpersonal skills in order to be successful.Today, I am leveraging those skills in the field of Software Development as a supplement to my steadily developing programming skills. To date, I have experience:- Creating and deploying a full-stack MERN application with authentication/authorization, image upload, and Google Maps integration.- Using ReactJs to create a single-page web application, which leverages a RESTful API to perform full CRUD ops on a backend data-set.- Using HTML, CSS, Javascript and Bootstrap to build beautiful, dynamic and responsive web pages. - Using Node.js, Express, Mongoose and MongoDB to build RESTful APIs.- Using ASP.Net Core MVC and SQL Server to create a full-stack web application with CRUD functionality.- Using C#, SQL Server, and the Visual Studio IDE to create a Windows desktop application that can read user input data, perform calculations, and store that data in a custom-built relational database.- Using Git and Github for state management, and as a tool to develop and maintain a codebase in collaboration with a small (8 member) team of developers.- Using BASH scripting and the Linux command line to both manage files and automate tasks.People who know me will tell you that I have excellent communication skills, I am reliable, self-motivated, quick to learn, and capable of thinking outside of the box. In my personal life I enjoy playing guitar, reading, and practicing yoga/meditation.
