Elliot Orthopaedic Surgery Specialist (Manchester, Nh)

Both outpatient and inpatient general orthopedic care with a focus in Orthopedic Trauma. Inpatient duties include:-Daily am rounding-ER and floor consults-Surgical first assist-Application of casts/splints, post operative dressing changes, staple/suture removal Outpatient duties include:-Daily clinic hours consisting of own and shared patient panel with attending surgeon-Joint injections and aspirations Participate in regular on call schedule

I was responsible for improving the efficiency of the physicians through the casting, splinting and dressing of injuries and operative wounds, assisting with minor procedures in the office, suture and staple removal as well as creating and instructing home exercise/therapy programs. Other duties included the ordering and fitting of durable medical equipment, answering any of the patients’ questions or concerns about their visit and triaging phone calls.

I served as a per diem Athletic Trainer responsible for the medical coverage of sporting events. Main duties included the prevention, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions as well as providing immediate and emergency care.

As a student athletic trainer (ATS), I worked directly with Director of Sports Medicine, Head Athletic Trainer, Team Physical Therapist, Team Physician, and other Athletic Training students. I provided medical coverage for the Men’s Football, Lacrosse and Soccer team as well as the Women’s Softball team. I was responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries as well as providing acute care. Other duties included completing injury reports, rehabilitation flow charts, SOAP notes, and daily treatment logs.
