Sourced to turn around manufacturing operations in less than 2 years and add manufacturing to Mexico. Transformed operational practices and improved efficiencies within the China-based 420,000 square foot facility with a focus on instilling Lean processes throughout the 820 person workforce. Added an additional 30k/sqft factory in Tijuana MX in 2018 offering product direct to the US. § Reached profitability within 2 years, with current revenues of $30M+ and climbing to an expected $45M+ in 2022.

U.S. - Mexico - China

During this time, I was recruited by Medalist to launch the Asia factory for the manufacturing and engineering of high-end sporting good products to Callaway Golf, Cobra Golf and Wilson Sporting Goods. Built a top-performing team through, Six Sigma, lean processes, and FIFO and JIT principals. § Catapulted operation from a start-up to $33M in revenue and 750 employees.§ Attained ~12% cost savings and a 15% workforce reduction through Lean and advanced machining including implementing and leading a 5-axis machining team in the US to conduct advanced prototyping

I was hand-picked by the business owner to lead the roll out of a world class machining company, that produced high-end complex 5-axis titanium and composite products for the optics, space and defense industries. Created Lean processes for an automated 24/7 operation and built a team of 45+ for a business that grew to $7M in annual revenue in 2 years. § Achieved profitability in year 2 ($3M+), capturing 41% growth in 2013. Secured a strong customer base with Cubic Defense, Alliant Space systems, BE Aerospace, Northrop Grumman, and Boeing. § Landed a key contract with Tesla Automotive, becoming a Tier 1 supplier, to produce a co-designed product over a 3-year period. § Led the manufacturing operation to received ISO 9001:2008 certification and ITAR approval to manufacture defense and space products.

Bellingham, Washington Area

I was recruited by Technical Composites to spearhead Mexico-based manufacturing for a business start-up that manufactures advanced composite products, specializing in golf and hockey and general composite sporting goods. Sourced and negotiated location and led design and layout of the 50,000 square foot facility located in Rosarito, Mexico. Managed 240-employees across all operations and the production of 28K+ composite hockey sticks per month. § Drove revenue above $22M by year 3 and developed key customers including: Reebok, DeMarini, MaxM, Wilson Sports and Nike. § Guided the design of the world’s lightest hockey skates that were successfully marketed in the USA, Canada, Finland, Sweden, Russia and Czech Republic. § Reduced cost of skate production by 22% by sourcing shoe-portion of hockey skate in Leon Mexico.

Greater San Diego Area

Brought on board to lead implementation for a new manufacturing operation in Mexico on behalf of this Japanese-owned US company with manufacturing facilities in the US, Japan, and Mexico. Directed facility design, layout, and installation of 300 machines utilizing Kaizen principles for the 120,000 square foot facility (the largest of the 3 locations), producing 150K+ golf shafts per month. In charge of $32M P&L and 520 employees in a 3-shift, 24/7 operation. § Negotiated lucrative manufacturing contracts with Callaway, Titleist, Reebok, Nike and Acushnet. § Cut operational expenses by approximately 3 - 4% per year while simultaneously growing manufacturing by incorporating Lean practices and incentivizing managers to identify cost cutting opportunities. § Personally engineered 35+ machines for automated and specialized golf processes.

Launched my career as a Machinist and rapidly worked my way up through multiple promotions ultimately serving as the Executive Vice President overseeing $26M P&L and directing sales, operations and business development for this leading manufacturer of advanced composite machinery. § Innovated industry changing products including, the 1st fully automated production line of golf shafts in the world (Aldila Golf) and 8 advanced automated Hot Melt Prepreg machines in the US.
