I teach Mental health in the Workplace and Pet First Aid because I understand the connection between having an animal and having healthier mental wellbeing; therefore, I want people to understand how important it is to look after their own mental health and those around them in and outside the workplace. Also, we need to look after our pets like they look after us, so by knowing first aid, you heighten the chance of saving them in an emergency.I also teach human first aid because no one can tell when a crisis will emerge in and outside the working environment; it is smarter to be prepared to deal with critical first aid situations with friends and family, companions, work colleagues, partners, neighbours, or outsiders than to standby not known what to do. You could be that person that can save a life, and that someone could be.Although it is a health & Safety requirement for some level of first aid cover, if an accident occurs in the workplace, you can't be a helpless witness, since simply standing by can potentially worsen the situation. Therefore, it’s important to have at least a basic understadning of first aid.
