Last Updated 13/06/2024I have worked in the financial services for over 20 years where I started with Standard Life at entry level. I spent the following years gathering knowledge with 8 years at Standard Life, 2 years working for a Financial Adviser as well as 2 years with BNP Paribas where I worked on Institutional Income Reconciliations.I’ve been with my current employer for 14 years starting out processing daily work before moving to a team analyst/SME role, followed by team management. I have also worked in Business Analyst role which involved on-boarding a new client through procedures, business readiness to go live as well as BAU looking after system configuration, Source of Truth (SOT) and introduction to workflow before moving to BAU Business Analyst working over two clients.In my current role the job of Business Analyst has grown to include Change and Implementation Management as well as managing the client SOT database through health checks and release activity checking. Incident Management is also part of this role.I also look after yearly regulatory reporting which involved creating processes for data gathering based on the client and HMRC requirements which involved understanding these requirement’s and translating this into a data extract. Most of the time I work independently and am able to carry out all steps of a project, if required, being able to manage a project, gather requirements, carry out analysis, implement, carry out the testing, implement via release management having covered for others where required controlling the run book.I enjoy problem solving and making things work. Taking the time fully analyse an issue and take into consideration every stakeholder impacted to ensure all requirements are covered and the best solution is arrived at for all parties brings great satisfaction . The operational business knowledge I have built up makes me an all round team player who can pick up work and queries in daily operations quickly resolving issues and implementing small changes without protracted documentation. I can also work through technical products such as pensions and I’m heavily relied upon within the business although not in that particular role. I’m an all round contributor dealing with all levels of internal and external customers taking a pragmatic approach to situations with an overall goal of challenging practices and removing barriers that just get in the way.As long as people are fair with me I will be more than accommodating the needs of the business.
