I started out at 19 working for ITT industries. In 20yrs I went from machine operator, to set up, to supervisor most of the time a union rep. From shop Steward, to chief steward, to vice President, finally President. My company moved to Mexico leaving many long term employees. Before closing I was instrumental in renegotiating a severance package including school tuition and weekly pay while attending. I chose Nursing. I breezed through the courses and Graduated on time. I immediately was offered a job at an area Nursing home as a Graduate Practical Nurse. 6 months later I was told I need to take my boards to become licensed to work as a Nurse. I did no studying in that 6 months and was not prepared. I failed my boards. I applied at several Home health care agencies as an HHA. One of those companies were interested in me as an ILST (independent living skills trainer) where I quickly accumulated a larger than usual case load.The agency discontinued it's ILST program leaving me an HHA I applied at Interim Healthcare. I worked in the field for several years. One day I was told my permanent client at the time had been placed in a nursing home leaving me no case load and was offered on call. After about 8 months of that a scheduling job became available. Moving next to waiver schedule, than as HR recruiter for a satellite office in another county. It was not well planned coupled with the lack of skilled applicants and no training to offer, it ultimately failed and back to the main office as a scheduler. The Administrator at the time needed help with daily operations etc. An Administrative assistant was needed and I was awarded that job. Working closely with her on a daily basis learning as much as possible I was awarded the acting Administrator job upon her resignation. I hold that position at this time and hope to be awarded the Administrator position from the new ownership.
