Michael Carr is an experienced industrial designer, creative director and business strategist, and has won numerous awards for his work, including both Red-Dot and iF awards. He specialises across technical products, fashion and accessories, and has been responsible for designing products and collections for a variety of high profile brands, from start up to large international organisations such as Vivienne Westwood and Braun. During which time he worked with true pioneers from each end of the creative spectrum, from the somewhat loose, hedonistic world of fashion, with Vivienne Westwood to the more restrained, function driven world of product design, with Dietrich Lubs. A protege of Dieter Rams, responsible for some of Brauns most influential products and one of the driving forces behind the ’10 Principles of Good Design’. His work has featured in the likes of Wallpaper, Hypebeast, Monocle and Hodinkee, as well as the permanent exhibition at both the Design Museum and MoMA. He was also the designer behind the British based brand, Uniform Wares, which he helped launch and grow from foundation through to an internationally acclaimed, global business.
