Serve at the top of the management chain for approximately 600-person operation spanning technologies from Wind, Water, Solar, Geothermal, Vehicles, to efficiency programs and federal facilities. Principal policy advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, member of the Secretary's Climate Action Plan leadership team, and advisor on clean energy policy to the Secretary.

Focused on Clean Tech deployment strategies, including; financing for emerging technology companies, prizes and competitions to advance R&D and encourage deployment, and federal policy to promote rapid commercialization of clean energy. Particularly focused on vehicle technologies and transportation sector energy efficiency, emerging technologies such as LED lighting and battery technology, and low-carbon electricity generation technology. Conceived of, developed a legislative strategy for, and gathered constituent support resulting in the enactment of the Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing Loan program - a $25 billion loan program used by Tesla, Ford, Nissan, and suppliers such as Alcoa to build new advanced vehicle and component manufacturing in the United States. Similarly conceived of and secured enactment of the "L Prize" competition to advance the production of LED lamps - credited by Philips Electronics with advancing their introduction of consumer LEDs by several years.
