The Advisory Panel assists the Board of Taxation in the general performance of its Charter, including its key functions of advising the Treasurer on the quality and effectiveness of tax legislation and on improvements to the general integrity and functioning of the tax system.I am a member of the reference group that has been assembled to assist the Board in undertaking a review of Australia's small business tax concessions.I was also a member of the expert panel that was assembled to assist the Board in conducting a review to identify features in the tax system that are hindering or preventing small businesses from reaching their commercial goals.
