Academically, I like to focus on gender in folklore, particularly the social, historical and political back drops to female oral narrative. I am also interested in archetypal stories/ mythology, legend and saints. I am keen to explore the relationships and divisions of literature and oral narrative i.e application of lit theory and folklore theory, and trace the development of the narrative. Other interests include religion, history, scandanavian based, Manx, cornish, Gaidhlig, Scottish studies, dialectology and Gaeltacht Literature.I would greatly welcome contact with anyone with an interest in Literature, Folklore and Irish language.
