Michael Castrillon leads Savoy’s Specialty Benefits Department and is responsible for executing business development initiatives for ancillary business in NY, NJ, PA, and DE. In mid-2007, Michael joined Savoy Associates to further develop ancillary business and provide brokers with the highest level of expertise for ancillary products (life, disability, dental, and vision).After receiving a BBA from the University of Miami, he was hired by CIGNA Group Insurance in 1996 as a Sr. Account Executive and was a proponent in expanding their product scope to include life, disability and accident lines for groups of 50 to 50,000 lives. In 2000, Michael became a charter member for Principal Financial Group’s Non-Medical Division and earned the position of VP of Sales for the NY/NJ/CT territory. During his 11-year career with CIGNA and Principal, he was a contributing member of the teams charged with drafting and filing the disability policies which both carriers still use today.With 20 years of experience, Michael’s expertise has become a valuable asset to brokers when marketing ancillary benefits to groups of all sizes and industries. Additionally, Michael is an instructor for Savoy Associates Insurance Education Services and frequently provides CE courses regarding ancillary products and key ancillary sales opportunities.
