Set up and managed Sequin’s Design Development Department based in Rumford RI. Responsible for the location, set up, equipping, staffing and launch of new jewelry operation in RI. Managed the overall operation: development of all new products, including engineering, design enhancement, in-house model making, and freelance staff. Responsible for the department budget including RI employee payroll and vendor invoicing; authorized Liz Claiborne signature for RI business. Reported directly to the V. P. of Merchandising and Design.• Member of the Liz Claiborne Design Review Committee; reviewed over 1000 product designs and oversaw their development. Interacted with Accessories Division and consulted with international offices.• Organized and coordinated Engineering Task Force with vendors, quality control, and product development; worked closely with vendors to ensure on-time delivery of products.• Worked with corporate executives from Liz Claiborne including CEO, CFO , President and VP of Design to secure RI facility location; extensive interface with real-estate agent and new landlord to insure that all Liz Claiborne need were met. • Procured all office furnishings and equipment, communication system, tools and specialty equipment for Model Makers and Designers. • Worked directly with Rhode Island Department of Economic Development ensuring all Claiborne needs were met with the establishment of the RI facility. • Worked within budget in hiring and managing all RI staff (sample makers, executive administrative assistant, model makers).
