Involvement in a variety of projects and commodities, mainly focused on coal exploration in the Bowen and Surat basins but also nickel laterites and mineral sands. Greenfield, near-mine and production experience. Site Senior Executive at exploration sites in Queensland. Develop and maintain safety and technical procedures, systems and documentation including the application of continual improvement processes and lessons learned. Interpret and ensure compliance with environmental, safety and health, and mining legislation. Plan and budget coal exploration programs in conjunction with resource geologists. Supervise and manage exploration work in the field, including mentoring junior geologists. Supervise of 2D and 3D seismic surveys from planning stages through to survey, ground clearance, acquisition and rehabilitation. Coordinate all ancillary contractors and consultants including earthmoving, down-hole geophysics, cultural heritage, environmental and groundwater consultants. Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships with third party consultants, hydrogeology team, landowners, traditional owners, councils, state government and contractors. Assist in expert witness report preparation in cases relating to drill rig and drilling contractor performance. Extensive exposure to contractual and legal matters. Business development and marketing.

Management and execution of groundwater and environmental projects, primarily for major oil company and government clients.  Considerable experience supervising drilling operations and core logging. Mainly for hydrogeological and geotechnical purposes in soft sediments, basalts and gravels using a variety of drilling techniques including diamond coring, air hammer and mud rotary. Projects primarily consisted of investigations at decommissioned and active petroleum storage facilities and industrial sites. Geotechnical studies for gas pipeline construction and realignment. Responsibilities included the scientific, logistical, financial and contract management of projects from conception to completion.  Specific duties included field supervision of drilling and earthmoving operations, client liaison, the development of tenders, scopes of work and cost estimates, data evaluation and analysis, report writing and review. Contract management with both clients and suppliers/contractors. Delivery of high quality and scientifically robust work was required, usually within short timeframes and tight budgets. A flexible and adaptable approach to work and time management were essential. Used Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access on a daily basis and therefore proficient in their use. Responsible for ensuring the efficient and practical implementation of stringent health, safety and environmental protocol in all projects under my control.
