About Michael Chamberlain

As Producer or Executive Producer and often production company owner, I have made over 200 one-off films & series. At Tearaway Films, with my partner John Palfery-Smith, we are developing a small slate of fiction feature films, including: ALIEN VS PANTOMIME; LUCKY ENGLISH; RIOT QUEENS.As part of our move into drama, in 2019, I devised and was Consultant Producer on a pilot for prison drama series written by and developed with writer brilliant writer and mentor Nick Stevens for Clerkenwell Films/BBC Worldwide. Going back, one of my early successes in documentary, as Producer, was THE COCONUT REVOLUTION, about eco-fuelled armed rebellion in the South Pacific (see photo in profile).

    In 2014 I devised, produced & directed investigative documentary NOWHERE TO HIDE for the 100th anniversary of the first use of chemical weapons, commissioned by Manoto1, broadcast in 2015.I also spent 18 months devising the programming for 56TV as Head of Content, and helping project leader Richard Dove (https://uk.linkedin.com/in/richard-dove-9224103) pitch the venture. 56TV planned a launch of high quality English-language factual television as a web service in China. The project continues without me on board and still hopes to fund-raise the £15M needed for development and launch.
