I'm a skill collector who loves teaching and working with a team of talented and enthusiastic men and women to build projects that capture the imagination and push the performance envelope.I'm a licensed plumber and builder and enjoy examining and improving best practices for implementing high performance building systems.I'm a writer with Fine Homebuilding Magazine and Green Building Advisor specializing in building systems and the business of homebuilding. I contributed to the 2008 ICC-700 National Green Building Standard and fought for stricter disclosure of halogenated flame retardants in green certified homes in the 2012 version. I'm a teacher and speaker who has presented at national conferences and local events, taught the Certified Green Practitioner curriculum with NAHB University of Housing and served as a Subject Matter Expert in developing, updating, and improving that curriculum. I'm a small business owner, with my partner Beth Williams, running Chandler Design-Build Inc. a small high performance and universal design focused design-build company.
